Allcargo Logistics will invest Rs 1,000 crore to develop a large warehousing facility at Pratham Dealmark Industrial Park in Dankuni, West Bengal. The investment was announced on October 6, 2026.
Warehousing demand drives expansion.
The proposed facility will cater to growing demand for organized warehousing, supported by industrial expansion, e-commerce, organized retail, and evolving supply chains.
The development is expected to provide storage, inventory management, transportation and distribution services while adding to organized warehousing capacity in the region.
Dankuni is positioned as a logistics hub.
Located near Kolkata, Dankuni provides connectivity to the city as well as key industrial and consumption centres. A representative of Pratham Dealmark Industrial Park, identified in reports as Katriar, described the investment as an important milestone for the industrial park and said it reinforces Dankuni’s emergence as a strategic logistics destination.
According to the representative, the project is expected to attract business activity, strengthen the surrounding industrial ecosystem and create long-term economic opportunities.
Planned East-West freight corridor
Dankuni is also expected to play a role in the planned East-West Dedicated Freight Corridor. The Union Budget 2026 announced a proposed 2,052-km freight corridor connecting Dankuni with Surat.
The detailed project report for the corridor has been submitted to the Railway Board for approval. The planned rail connectivity could further strengthen Dankuni’s position as a logistics and distribution hub in eastern India.
