Container Corporation of India has launched two new business streams within days of each other, expanding rail connectivity for India’s EXIM trade both across international borders and within its domestic port-hinterland network.

What new export corridor has opened from Mysore?

ICD Kadakola in Mysore has commenced export operations, with containerised cargo dispatched on August 14, 2026, from the facility to Birgunj in Nepal. The movement extends CONCOR’s commitment to connecting India’s EXIM trade with global markets through gateway ports, while offering seamless rail connectivity beyond India’s borders to neighbouring landlocked nations such as Nepal.

What does the new MMLP Varnama to Pipavav Port service involve?

CONCOR has also commenced containerised cargo movement from MMLP Varnama to Pipavav Port, boosting rail transport of exports through APM Terminals Pipavav and opening a gateway to global markets for exporters and importers in the region. The service offers a reliable, efficient and environmentally sustainable alternative to road transport, aligning with the objectives of the PM GatiShakti policy and India’s broader multimodal logistics push.

What do these developments signal for CONCOR’s network strategy?

Together, the two launches reflect CONCOR’s continued push to strengthen port-hinterland connectivity while enabling greater ease of doing business for India’s trade and export community. From linking a landlocked inland container depot in Karnataka to a neighbouring country’s border town, to connecting a Gujarat logistics park with a major west coast port, the moves underscore CONCOR’s expanding role in stitching together India’s rail-based EXIM logistics network.
