The Multimodal Logistics Park (MMLP) at Dadri, operated by Container Corporation of India Ltd (CONCOR), dispatched 2,931 refrigerated (reefer) containers in September 2026, marking its highest monthly volume to date.

The September figure was 350 containers higher than the previous record. The facility also recorded 5,931 TEUs booked during the month, exceeding its earlier high by 597 TEUs, according to CONCOR.

Demand for temperature-controlled logistics rises

The increase reflects growing demand for reliable temperature-controlled transportation across sectors including agriculture, food processing, pharmaceuticals, seafood, dairy and other perishables.

For exporters, maintaining an uninterrupted cold chain from origin to destination is important for preserving product quality, reducing wastage and meeting requirements in international markets.

Rail supports long-distance reefer movement

Rail-based multimodal logistics enables refrigerated cargo to move over longer distances between production centres, ports, distribution networks and export gateways.

Dadri is located at the northern end of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor, providing rail connectivity between northern India and ports on the country’s western coast.

CONCOR expands cold-chain focus

The latest record comes as CONCOR continues to expand its cold-chain logistics activities.

The company recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) to strengthen the export cold-chain ecosystem.

A first reefer train from Modinagar to Mundra was also recently flagged off by DP World and JSB Cargo Movers, supporting the movement of temperature-sensitive cargo by rail.
