Ocean Network Express (ONE) has announced two changes to improve the structure of its regional headquarters, both effective April 1, 2027.
ONE will establish a new Asia Pacific Regional Headquarters (RHQ) in Singapore, consolidating its East Asia and South Asia RHQ functions, currently based in Hong Kong and Singapore respectively. The Asia Pacific RHQ will oversee ONE’s business across 15 markets, with Louis Tang assuming the role of Region Head, Asia Pacific.
Separately, ONE will centralise the management of its East, West and South Africa markets in the Dubai RHQ. The London RHQ will continue to manage Europe, the Mediterranean and North Africa markets.
The changes are intended to bring the RHQs closer to the markets, enable faster decision-making and create new opportunities for the business. Service offerings, customer contracts and day-to-day operations will continue as they are today, and customers can expect improved service levels after the transition. Local teams in all markets concerned will remain customers’ point of contact for relationships and operations.
Till Ole Barrelet, Chief Executive Officer, said Asia Pacific and Africa are important growth regions for ONE, adding that the company’s regional headquarters sit closest to its customers and markets, and the changes will enable faster decisions and accelerate growth, while also supporting further investments in both regions.
Louis Tang, Region Head, Asia Pacific, said the teams in East and South Asia have built strong businesses and deep customer relationships, and that a single regional headquarters structure gives the company a comprehensive view of Asia Pacific, allowing it to respond more quickly when conditions change, with customers moving cargo between East and South Asia now served by one team.
Sundeep Sibal, Region Head, West Asia, said the Dubai RHQ already manages much of Africa’s trade with Asia, India and the Middle East, and that one team will now coordinate services and capacity across that whole corridor, giving the company a stronger base to grow from.
Both changes support ONE’s ONE 2030 strategy and its ambition to build one of the world’s leading container shipping companies through sustainable growth. The changes will be implemented in phases, with current teams continuing in their existing roles under the new structures initially, followed by further alignment of functions and responsibilities as each transition progresses.
Ocean Network Express, headquartered in Singapore, operates a fleet of over 280 vessels with a capacity exceeding 2.2 million TEUs, providing container shipping services to over 120 countries.
