Safexpress has opened a 93,000 sq ft logistics park in Nelamangala, Karnataka, adding to its distribution infrastructure in the Bengaluru region. Located near the Nelamangala–Doddaballapur Highway, the facility is intended to strengthen regional cargo movement and connectivity with the company’s nationwide network.
The company identified the facility as its 98th logistics park in its launch announcement. The addition places Safexpress within an established warehousing cluster serving Bengaluru’s industrial and commercial markets.
What has Safexpress announced?
The confirmed details include the facility’s opening, its 93,000 sq ft footprint and its location near the Nelamangala–Doddaballapur Highway. Safexpress said the park would strengthen logistics infrastructure in the region and improve connections across major national routes.
The announcement did not disclose the project’s investment value, cargo-handling capacity, employment numbers or customer commitments. It also did not provide details of loading bays, storage configurations or specialised handling facilities.
The development therefore represents a confirmed addition to Safexpress’s physical network, while its operating scale beyond the stated floor area remains undisclosed.
Why is Nelamangala an important logistics location?
Nelamangala forms part of Bengaluru’s western warehousing belt, alongside Dabaspete. This cluster serves businesses requiring access to the city while maintaining connections with longer-distance road freight routes.
Knight Frank’s Bengaluru warehousing assessment identifies Nelamangala–Dabaspete as one of the city’s principal logistics clusters, alongside Hoskote–Narsapura in the east and Attibele–Bommasandra in the south. Its analysis highlights National Highway 48 as an important connection between consumption centres in southern and western India.
The area already accommodates industrial and logistics developments. IndoSpace, which operates a separate park in Nelamangala, identifies access to industrial hubs and the Bengaluru–Pune–Mumbai highway corridor among the location’s advantages. These connections provide the broader infrastructure setting for Safexpress’s latest facility.
What is driving Bengaluru’s warehousing demand?
The opening comes amid sustained demand for logistics space across Bengaluru. Cushman & Wakefield reported warehouse leasing of 3.1 million sq ft in the first half of 2026, supported by third-party logistics operators, e-commerce companies and manufacturers.
The consultancy identified Nelamangala, Dabaspete and Hoskote as leading warehousing locations, with occupier activity concentrated across the city’s western and eastern corridors.
These figures describe the wider property market rather than demand contracted at the Safexpress facility. They nevertheless provide context for the company’s decision to add infrastructure in Nelamangala, where logistics operators and industrial occupiers already have an established presence.
How does the opening fit Safexpress’s expansion?
The Karnataka facility follows other additions to Safexpress’s logistics network. In October 2026, the company opened a 350,000 sq ft park in Vapi, Gujarat, near National Highway 48.
The Vapi development includes transshipment and third-party logistics facilities, with cross-docking infrastructure designed for simultaneous loading and unloading of more than 116 vehicles. It followed the company’s logistics park in Vadodara and formed part of its expansion along major transport corridors.
Those specifications relate to Vapi and have not been announced for Nelamangala. Together, however, the openings show Safexpress adding facilities in both western and southern India to support its transport and distribution operations.
For businesses assessing the new Karnataka park, the principal confirmed development is the addition of 93,000 sq ft of logistics infrastructure near an established road corridor. Further operational disclosures would clarify the cargo segments, service coverage and handling capabilities available at the site.
