Vapi: Supply chain and logistics company Safexpress has inaugurated the Safexpress Vapi logistics park in Gujarat’s Valsad district, adding modern warehousing, distribution and transshipment capacity to one of western India’s busiest industrial belts.
The 3.5 lakh sq ft facility is located near National Highway 48 and is designed to serve businesses across Gujarat and neighbouring markets.
What does the facility offer?
The park is equipped for transshipment and third-party logistics (3PL) operations. Its cross-dock infrastructure can handle simultaneous loading and unloading of more than 116 vehicles, which the company says will improve cargo handling efficiency and cut transit times.
A column-free span of more than 105 feet allows goods to move freely inside the facility, while 16-foot-wide cantilever sheds enable all-weather loading and unloading.
The park also includes modern firefighting systems and trained emergency response staff. Its sustainability features include rainwater harvesting, green spaces and extensive use of natural daylight to reduce energy consumption.
Why Vapi?
Vapi is a major manufacturing hub with a strong base in chemicals, pharmaceuticals, textiles, packaging, paper, plastics and engineering. Anchored by the Vapi Industrial Estate and good connectivity to key markets, the region generates substantial demand for transport, warehousing and distribution services.
The new park is intended to help manufacturers and exporters streamline supply chains, improve delivery reliability and reach wider markets, while strengthening cargo movement from Gujarat to destinations across India.
How does it fit Safexpress’ expansion?
The Vapi park is part of a series of large logistics facilities Safexpress has opened across key highway corridors. In 2025, the company inaugurated a 3.5 lakh sq ft park in Vijayawada on NH-16, with cross-dock capacity for over 100 vehicles, and a 240,000 sq ft park in Vadodara. It has also opened a 3.5 lakh sq ft park in Chennai with docking for 75 trucks and a 3 lakh sq ft facility in Hyderabad on NH-44.
Safexpress has described itself as running one of India’s largest logistics networks, with 311 area offices, 56 cargo airport connections, 42 3PL locations and more than 11,000 GPS-enabled vehicles.
Why does it matter for logistics?
The Vapi facility adds to a second Safexpress park in Gujarat after Vadodara, giving the company a stronger presence along one of the country’s most important industrial and freight corridors. Grade-A cross-dock facilities near highways help consolidate shipments from many small and mid-sized manufacturers, reducing handling times and improving truck utilisation.
The opening also reflects wider demand for modern warehousing beyond the largest metros. Savills India data shows manufacturing occupiers led industrial and logistics absorption nationally in Q3 2026, while smaller cities continue to gain share of leasing activity.
