Shipping Corporation appoints Vipul Singhal as Government Nominee Director on Board

The Shipping Corporation of India Limited (SCI) has announced the appointment of Vipul Singhal, Director (SBR) in the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW), as a Government Nominee Director on its Board.

The appointment has been approved by the Competent Authority in the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways. The Ministry conveyed the approval through a letter dated September 24, 2026, and SCI informed the stock exchanges about the development in compliance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

According to the regulatory disclosure, the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways approved the appointment of Vipul Singhal as Government Nominee Director on the SCI Board. Singhal is currently serving as Director (SBR) in the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways. His appointment adds a government nominee from the administrative ministry to the Board of India’s state-owned shipping company.

Singhal has also been associated with policy and stakeholder consultations concerning India’s shipbuilding sector. Official maritime-sector documents list him as Director (SBR), MoPSW, on committees dealing with shipbuilding financial assistance and capacity and capability development.

While the Ministry has approved Singhal’s appointment, the exact date of his appointment to the SCI Board will be communicated to the stock exchanges separately. SCI said the subsequent disclosure will include the required details in accordance with the applicable SEBI Listing Regulations and the SEBI Master Circular dated January 30, 2026.
