Tejas Cargo India Limited has deployed a Blue Energy Motors electric heavy-duty truck for Dalmia Cement’s cement transportation operations, in a collaboration aimed at reducing emissions from freight movement.
The deployment, announced on 16 September 2026, involves Dalmia Cement, Tejas Cargo India Limited and Blue Energy Motors. The electric truck will be operated by Tejas Cargo to support Dalmia Cement’s logistics requirements.
Electric truck deployed for cement transportation
The deployment comes as industrial companies and logistics operators increasingly examine ways to reduce emissions across their supply chains. Freight transportation is a significant source of Scope 3 emissions for companies, making the transition to lower-emission transport an area of focus beyond direct manufacturing activities.
The collaboration brings together a cement manufacturer, logistics operator and electric heavy-duty truck manufacturer for a commercial deployment in the cement sector.
According to Tejas Cargo, the deployment will contribute to the use of cleaner freight transportation solutions while supporting the company’s logistics operations.

The deployment adds to the use of electric heavy-duty trucks in commercial applications in India, particularly in industries with substantial freight transportation requirements such as cement and infrastructure.

Blue Energy Motors said it currently has more than 1,400 green heavy-duty trucks operating across freight corridors in India. According to the company, these vehicles have collectively covered more than 122 million green kilometres and contributed to a reduction of over 33,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.
The company also said its portfolio includes LNG and electric heavy-duty trucks.
What does the deployment mean for India’s freight sector?
The deployment illustrates the growing use of electric heavy-duty vehicles in commercial freight applications. For industries such as cement, where road transportation forms an important part of logistics operations, electrification is one of the technologies being considered to reduce transportation-related emissions.
