V.O. Chidambaranar Port provides 40,000 sq.m additional area, 10-day free storage for mainline EXIM containers

V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority has introduced additional storage and stacking space for laden EXIM containers handled through Mainline Vessel Services, aimed at facilitating and promoting container traffic through the port.

The port has earmarked approximately 20,000 sq.m at the 7th Berth and another 20,000 sq.m near the 10th Berth, providing a total additional area of around 40,000 sq.m for container storage and stacking.

The facility will be available to Mainline Vessel Operators, Terminal Operators, major industries, freight forwarders, Customs Brokers, NVOCC operators and other eligible stakeholders, subject to the applicable rules and regulations of the port. Its availability will also depend on space and operational convenience.
